Upcoming Showcases

Showcases I'm presenting

In 2016, three busy songwriters, looking to boost their creative output, formed a musical "buddy-system". A weekly song challenge, in which they inspired and supported each other, yielded dozens of new songs. They will be performing their favorites and sharing stories about their experience with audiences on the East Coast and in the Midwest during their 2017 tour. image by https://www.flickr.com/photos/fratellilumiere/

Let's be together and offer up beautiful music to the world! GOAL: Continuous music making by women during inauguration weekend. PLAN: approx. 30 minute sets for each performer. Minimal Sound-system & shared instruments for seamless set-changes and continuous music making! Solo (or duo, max) acts only. Even if you are in a band, we encourage you to come and sing solo, or with one other person. We are hoping for really quick set changes and to not disturb the neighbors, especially during the late night hour. TIME: Saturday, end of March until Sunday 8pm. (We might do some music making on Friday, too, depending on interest. *Late night playing will be up-in-the-air ... I would like to get to and encourage others to attend other solidarity music happenings on Friday&Saturday nights, as well!)

I create

music

For potential hosts

"I should've been a drummer", is my explanation of how I play the piano. (There was an old piano in my house when I was a child and it kept me company.) I grew up listening to showtunes, and singing in church, with my mom, and going to RnB and roots rock shows with my dad. I strive for crafted songwriting mixed with complex harmonies and intricate rhythms.

I'm looking to

Get invitations to showcase my work • Reach new audiences • Perform in more intimate spaces • Do a new kind of tour • Meet collaborators

I LOVE performing on a real piano.

For creators

expect a musician hosting musicians. so, expect someone who understands and will communicate clearly and professionally.

Ever hosted before?

We have had a handful of shows in our space, mostly traveling songwriters.

My space

house

we have a small living room that can host solo acts and duos. We have a piano and guitars and a few amps. We have a PA, but the space is small, so we shy away from bands in the cold months. We can host bigger acts in our backyard when weather is good, which isn't predictable in the D.C. area, but sometimes it's beautiful!

Audience sizes I'd like to host

16-30 people

What types of creators I'm interested in hosting?

music
