Description

Featuring multi-disciplined performers full of heart, this showcase is bound to warm the coldest soul. Billy Conahan - Artist: Born and raised in Astoria, Queens, Billy Conahan is always quick to express his love for his city. An engaging performer with a natural storytelling ability, and charming wit, Billy's talent is matched only by his magnetic personality. Billy can be heard playing with his band All Types of Kinds, and has opened for Mike Stud at the Highline Ballroom and Pusha T at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. His debut album, Leaping With Intent To Fly, can be heard & purchased on BandCamp. https://billyconahan.bandcamp.com/ Gracie Martin of Gracie & The So Beautifuls is joining us from Philadelphia PA! Described by Kelly Hoppenjans for VAMP as "A dreamy alternative folk landscape (...) that packs a sweet feminist punch," this NPR Tiny Desk favorite is in town for one night only! www.graciemartinmusic.com Geena Kaye: Geena Kaye is a 20-something musician and writer. Raised bilingual in Germany by a Minnesotan mother who played her Carole King and Carly Simon CDs in the car, and a German father who blasted Pink Floyd and Beethoven on his record player, music equalled home. An old soul from a young age, Geena was overwhelmed by the depth and weight of her emotions, and began songwriting as a means to process the workings of the heart. Moving to New York led to an arduous questioning of self, love, and meaning, but somewhere deep inside, an inner child led her back to songwriting. Now, she writes with newfound fearlessness, sincerity and candor. Geena Kaye is no longer afraid or ashamed of her feelings: piercing emotions are her truth. Presidio - band: Presidio is a guitar-based ambient singer-songwriter duo based in Brooklyn, NY. Inspired by the intimate vocals of artists like Julie Byrne and Brandi Carlile, as well as the sonic textures of artists like Moses Sumney and Radiohead, Presidio creates music that is both raw and mesmerizing. Presidio formed in the fall of 2016 when singer-songwriters Gabriella De La Cruz and Will Zesiger met while studying abroad in Berlin. After sharing songs with each other, they quickly discovered that their voices had a special blend when they sang together. Known among peers as “Simona and Garfunkel,” the two began writing daily and eventually formed the duo Presidio. Currently the duo is playing shows around NYC at venues like Piano’s, The Bitter End and Pete’s Candy Store. They are in the midst of recording their first series of singles and are preparing to release several live in the studio videos.
