House of Commons is an underground restaurant I run out of my home (and other secret spots in + outdoors around Toronto). I have a large, open concept space and rooftop to host secret dinner salons, brunches, events, weddings and concerts since 2009. Guest chefs, bev specialists, musicians or artists come and showcase their talent either as a curated, multi-platform event or individually for a specialized experience. The address remains a secret, guests receive Directions + A Password for entrance. The space is surrounded by office buildings so noise is generally not an issue. Summer months we host a capacity of 60-70 guests using the outdoor space, winter time closer to 50. Generally I help curate your event either as a showcase on its own, or by combining other food/bev elements to the evening. Artists come by for a chat and a site visit to plot the night and get a sense of the big space and what is possible. The House also has an airbnb room as a crash pad for out-of-town artists.
A celebration of the sun going down, one rooftop at a time. All summer long. All proceeds to the performers. Performance this week from: O'Pears
Part ritual, part drinking wine on a roof. We're gonna celebrate the sun going down. Come after work, climb some stairs and hear some local performers sing the sun to sleep. Performances will begin just a few minutes before sunset.
Summer sunsets, local artists, community.
