Laugh Riots: Too Many Thursdays Comedy Showcase

Presented by Ohene Cornelius

Hosted By

Melissa Hunter Gurney (Gamba Forest)

NYC • Hosting in an apartment, in a yard, in a living room, in a garage

I'm an indie writer, educator and collaborator who runs an artist community called GAMBA Forest. I host in both my home in Greenpoint and my art space around the corner on the border of East Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Both spaces are filled with art, love and constantly changing color and patterns. I love a unique, warm vibe with art everywhere.

What to expect

A unique space, incredible performances, community.

Why is this happening?

I am a entertainer and a self starter. After doing mainstream films, touring music and writing and recording indie shorts, the next logical step was to begin putting on shows that reflected all my interests. I wanted to see what it would be like to mesh Gotham Comedy a Club with The Lyricists Lounge. I’m inspired by the format of the Chappell’s Show, Wild N Out, and Lyricist Lounge while being tickled by the comedy of Mitch Hedburg, Robin Harris (and Williams), plus Seinfeld.
